Patrick Soul

Patrcik Soul Video Strength to Move On  was shot at Studio 207. The video was Directed By Francis Polo. The HD music video  was shot on the Red One utalizing the natural light of the studio .

A Spring 2009 release is planed.

Mark Siska shot still images using natural light, studio lights and sillouetes. The photos shot by Mark Siska will be included in a book called Film Shoots. The Book will be avliable on blurb.com May 2009.  Several phots from this video shoot for the book can be viwed here.

Compass Opening Sequence

The open sequence for the Compass Documentary is currenlty on line for exhibition. Click here to view. This clip was filmed in HD in September 08 at the Prop Theatre, Chicago. It features the voice of Bobbi Gordon a Compass player as she describes her audition for Compass in 1954. The clip is shot in HD and is the style of other recreations the documentary will have. Studio 207 returns from LA

05 June 2008

December 2008: Studio 207 completed shooting in LA. Interviews with: Shelley Berman, Ed Asner and Mickey Laglaire. A  90 minute cut with the folowing new material will be ready as a work in progress cut end of January 09. 

On Thursday the 4th of December , Shelley Berman worked with Molly Halle, Liz  Stewart and Nick Marron. Shelley had them work on dramatic scene improv. 

You can catch Molly Halle and USS and Rock N' Roll " We only dock in the port of rock” at the IO West Hollywood every Tueday.

Studio 207 returns from NYC

October 2008: Mark Siska  continues working on Compass: The Birth of Improvasational Theatre. Mark Siska returned form NYC  with new material and interviews which include: Jane Alexander, Follow up interviews with Suzanne "Honey " Shepherd, Janet Coleman and Charlse Jacobs. Currenlty there is a 45 minute assemble cut edited by editor Jesse Straton. With the new material just completed in NYC there will be a new 70 minute cut avilaible next week. A final trip to LA will complete principle and follow up photography at end of Oct 08.

October 2008. Buffalo NY  Artist Bruce Bitmead will be exhibiting a group of drawing which will be placed in public areas of Wicker Park. The show has been refereed to as sketch book to the curb, works of fine art presented in public spaces. “With the growth of advertisement in the public way it has become a  visual nuisance” curator Mark Siska states.

Grand Inquisitor to Screen at Studio 207

October 8, 2008 8:00 p.m Studio 207  will be screening the Chicago premiere of The Grand Inquisitor  23 min (USA, 2007) a cubist, satirical update of Dostoevsky’s famous fable featuring a right-wing webnews pundit who confronts the Second Coming in an election year. Music by Paul Miller, aka 'DJ Spooky, That Subliminal Kid.'  Tony Torn and Ruth Margraff will attend the screening with special guests TBA.

Compass doc to re-create Historic Improv Games

05 June 2008

June 2008. Mark Siska and David Shepherd will be re-creating historic Impov games that created the foundation for American Theartrical Improv. Five players from Chicago will work with David Shepherd at Studio 207. The re-creation will be shot in HD to be included in Compass: The Birth of American Improv a documentary currently in production. Players: Ayman Samman, Heather Tyler, Rebeca Miller, Nick Maroon, Jami Primmer.

 

Document Cafe Antarsia Ensemble

From success of the Cafe Antarsia Ensemble web video, director Mark Siska will be traveling to Sibiu Romania the first week in June 08 to document their perfromance at The Festivalul International de Teatru de la Sibiu.

Sibiu International Theatre Festival is the leading arts festival in contemporary Romania, with a world class line-up of international performers and artists.

Studio 207 completes production for Clark St Bistro (working title) a series being directed by Robert McCarthy.  Clark St Bistro is being shot in High Definition and follows the local characters at the bistro’s bar as well as the ever changing diverse cliental that frequents the Clark St. Bistro.

 Writer and Director Robert McCarthy is a practicing psychiatrist and has created characters based on behaviors.

Mark Siska and the Studio 207 crew will be traveling to NYC to continue shooting Compass. The five day shoot will include interviews with past Compass players talking about the experience of working as improvisers and how that ground breaking experience effected their carriers and American theatre. Disgruntled residents of Chicago's first affordable housing project for artists, the Bloomingdale Arts Building Condo in Bucktown, say a new storm is brewing at the housing development, which has been plagued with problems since opening in 2003.
