October 2008. Buffalo NY Artist Bruce Bitmead will be exhibiting a group of drawing which will be placed in public areas of Wicker Park. The show has been refereed to as sketch book to the curb, works of fine art presented in public spaces. “With the growth of advertisement in the public way it has become a visual nuisance” curator Mark Siska states. “Peripheral Visions is a show which an artist has the opportunity to show in one big alternative space a neighborhood, in this case Wicker Park”. We want to show an alternative to poster art, assemblages and graffiti." Siska continues. " I walk around Wicker Park and notice more and more interesting placement of work in small areas most recently knitting around a street post. The work that will be exhibited are original drawings not copies or poster. "The drawing will be offered to the street and the neighborhood and we will see what happens" Siska concludes.
